Needed this notebook to organize teaching materials lessons curriculum assessments parent contact... Evidence of a good teacher. Needed something large and sturdy. A colleague pulled the rings open the wrong way one time and the whole thing was broken wouldn't line back up again. Lot of money for something that falls apart that fast!
If your child's school is anything like ours they will use binders in place of everything. If you had a workbook as a child now it's a binder. If you used a notebook now it's a binder. And since Avery puts those cut-these-points-out-to-help-your-PTA things on them everyone tends to buy Avery. I did. When my one child destroyed the first binder in less than 3 months I bought the Heavy Duty version which only lasted 4 months. I saw the Staples Better Binder noticed the rubber reinforced area and thought "Why not?" Guess what? It lasted the whole school year and could probably still have been used again this year.
Staples binders are top-notch! These binders make it through a whole school year so are definitely worth spending a little extra. The cover is durable and washable. The windows allow these binders to be customizable and easily recongizable. This makes it easy to know which binder to grab for what meeting and the kids know what subject binder to grab from their locker in a hurry. The only drawback is the rubber edges on the cover stick to the bag when trying to put them in or take them out. This is a real disadvantage if your school requires the string type backpacks.
These are the only binders I will buy for my high schoolers. The beatings they take in the bag on the floor in the trunk under foot. And they still last all year. THAT is impressive.
I have 5 children 4 of them use these binders for school. We generally get 2 years out if them. When they need to be replaced I recycle them at staples and save $2 on each new one. It doesn't get better than that. I have a lot of school supplies to buy but I shop quality over value most times so I do not have to replace items during the school year
I bought this binder for my son for school. it is large enough for several dividers and a folder. I wish it would have a better side pocket to store papers which is why you need to add the extra folders. The other binders a soo expensive but even at the price for this item is expensive for the the quality. Usually it gets worn out within six months.
