Other than the rings themselves most of these binders break at the hinge of the cover and back cover. With this model they replaced that hinge with rubber giving it more flex with the hopes of it not cracking. Idea sounds feasible but only time will tell. Too early in the ownership to describe if the hinges will last longer.

Great Binder

I love these binders! They are very attractive and they are very easy to label with the side slot so you know exactly what is inside each binder. While it is a very appealing binder the rubber edges make it difficult to get in and out of your backpack. I usually buy these binders when I have material that is just going to sit on the shelf and I don't have to worry about that problem. The rings are strong and you don't have to worry about the rings pulling apart or becoming unaligned. I also like how easy it is to open the rings with the push button they have used. No more fears of getting your fingers caught in the rings.

I use these binders to create my Cookbooks for my kids. So far I created 4 binders and am working on a fifth. My 5 children will each get one.

Toughest and Brightest!

I am a teacher and this is the only kind of binder on my supply list. I've seen middle school students totally tear up those other binders within the first month because they wanted to save a little money. Still it's not savings if you have to buy a new binder. Staples' Better Binder has yet to break in any of my real world applications. And that's even with the 2 inch binders and papers folders and everything else coming out through 7 periods of class!

I use these all the time for school lesson plans and any required information that is needing a binder. I also create recipe books for bridal shower gifts that I share with family.

My daughter started using this type of binder in 10th grade she has 4 different colors and has been able to use them them for up to 2 years before they need to be replaced. They hold up very well to hard use and do not break or tear at the "seams" like cheaper binders do.
