I have several of these and they do last longer than the standard vinyl binders that develop cracks at the folds. Good thing they stopped putting the undersized clear latching pocket inside the front cover.

The rubber hinges don't crack/break under strain. The rubber also helps to grip the binder. Used for college. There are enough colors to have one book for each class.

I purchased a "2" Staples® Better® View Binder with D-Rings Teal .Item: 651743". After a few months one of the rivets popped out and the binder came apart. I took it into the store and asked for an exchange. The staples employee said no. I said the website says "100% satisfaction guaranteed". He said it does not say that on the binder they do not guarantee satisfaction on binders only on electronics. I emailed Staples.com and only received an automated reply.
I had this binder for one week and already the spine is broken

Not "better" BEST!

If your child's school is anything like ours they will use binders in place of everything. If you had a workbook as a child now it's a binder. If you used a notebook now it's a binder. And since Avery puts those cut-these-points-out-to-help-your-PTA things on them everyone tends to buy Avery. I did. When my one child destroyed the first binder in less than 3 months I bought the Heavy Duty version which only lasted 4 months. I saw the Staples Better Binder noticed the rubber reinforced area and thought "Why not?" Guess what? It lasted the whole school year and could probably still have been used again this year.
