For what I am using this for the binder meets my needs perfectly. The plastic sleeve on front and spine allow me to insert a Binder Title page and spine and the front pockets allow me to store some loose items that won't be part of the 3 rings.
21st -Century designed. Remember the binders of yore? Cardboard-(OK that was ecological) covered with rough woven stuff that split along the binding after a few years of steady use and labels stuck on it peeled off within months; round rings that for the larger binders made sliding papers slow and iffy; and a metal clip on the inner cover for immediate-reference papers whose spring system broke about 25% of the time. Can't see why anyone buys anything more expensive than this current beauty that lasts for a decade(or more!) with steady gentle use.
When I placed a title in the spine noticed that the spine was sliced a bit - I suspect when opening the carton it came in the knife sliced it. Having worked in a storeroom operation it is not difficult to happen.
