I bought these heavy-duty sheet protectors for my sister. She prefers them to the medium-duty protectors. They are significantly thicker--3.3 mil (.0033 inch/0.08382 mm) as opposed to 2.4 mil (.0024 inch/0.06096 mm). I really can't comment on ease of use resistance to liquid infiltration or any degradation in transparency over time.
