I bought this for my third grader for school as it was the best I could find short of metal. Ask me again in May and I will tell you how it stood up to a year in a backpack.

This is a sturdy binder that should last. I appreciate the description in that it helped me select a good quality binder among so many on the shelves.

broke in 2 days.

My son picked out this binder for school because he liked the design and rings were easy for him to open. However within first two days of school the middle ring is broken and his papers keep getting stuck. We have already replaced this rather expensive binder with another brand.

My son loves this binder. It has survived his throwing into the backpack and throwing the backpack on the floor under his vhair in the hall on his bed and of course off his bed. He is a neat freak when it comes to school wish he was that way when it comes to his room...LOL....so he is constantly opening and closing the binder loops to be sure his binder is as neat as it could be. I think I should have stock in staples.....so sorry that the staples in east hartford ct has closed....It was so close to my house...now I have to travel 15 to 20 minites to tje closest one....and with black friday and the Christmas rush..AHHHHHH. ..need I say moee...LOL..when I originally went to get my son a binder I got a different binder. Once I talked to the sales person and told her this was his 5th binder and school was only 3 months into the year she said I should try this one and I was happy she did. As I said my son loves it.

I generally love this style of ruggedized binder and prefer it to any others I've yet found. The covers are strong plastic not plastic coated paperboard. Another major office chain has something that would fall in the same category but just doesn't feel like it is as durable. The reinforced spine of this one seems sturdier. They're ideal for use in a professional workshop or field-duty environment when used with heavy duty sheet protectors or laminated sheets. Keep in mind this will significantly reduce the rated page capacity. The reduced rating is because the 3-ring on those I just purchased don't seem as high quality as some older binders of the same size and type. Where the halves of the rings connect the sheet protectors have a tendency to snag. They don't align as well especially when weighted down with a 100 or so pages. Maybe this is a result of supply-chain issues due to the pandemic and not a cost-savings decision at the expense of quality? These also have pockets on both inside covers for loose pages but it would be an improvement to replace one of them with the style of closable pocket found on the 1" & 1-1/2" versions. I've had to add 3-ring pencil pouches to accomplish the same thing as the smaller binders.
