Holds big school books.

It opens wide for wide school books. You can put any size college book in it. Sturdy frame it doesn't tear like some of the flimsy binders.

It is very sturdy and I don't think I needed a 3" as it's pretty big but it will hold up well. I don't like the inside pockets at all!! It doesn't hold much and what it does hold falls out! The front clear pocket BARELY holds one piece of paper as well.

Bought one in yellow; one in purple and am extremely happy with the quality. Substantial strength to hold 3" worth of paper and look beautiful. The bright colors make them easy to find amongst my other binders.

The Staples brand binders are pricey but do the job. I wish the front and back binders covers were more sturdy. Thus 4 stars.
