[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love this because I've been wanting a laminator but I had such a hard time getting them smooth. Almost every time I put one on a document it ended up with wrinkles or bubbles. Maybe it is a user error but I could not figure it out! I'll keep trying but I'm not sure I could recommend them at this point!

Could be better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used these sheets when we were making homemade bookmarks. The sheets get the job done but the quality isn’t the best. It gives off scotch tape vibes and they are very opaque. These also do not provide as much “glare” protection as stated on the package. It gets the job done but could be improved!

A temporary solution

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used these at work thinking they would be a great option for protecting original documents. I found the self laminating sheets to be ok for a temporary situation but I wouldn’t recommend it for something needing a good protection. It was difficult to get the sheets smooth and wrinkle free. Being that I wanted to be able to photocopy the documents this didn’t work well as the wrinkles would be visible. It was also challenging to get the paper straight as it couldn’t be adjusted after it touched the adhesive surface. I did find that it was easy to trim away excess material as long as I had the sticky side down on the trimmer. The box came with no instructions or tips maybe there’s a better way to use this. Unfortunately it didn’t work out for my needs.

Easy to Use Laminating Sheets
on May 12, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Staples Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets were very easy to use and the size is perfect for laminating a regular size (8.5" x 11") sheet of paper but would require two sheets for front and back. Only one sheet would be needed for smaller projects. It is really helpful that a tab across the bottom of the laminating sheet is provided to easily peel the backing off. I did not notice any instructors or best practice tips to use the laminating sheets in the package so I had a few air bubbles in the first project I laminated in. With the next projects I laminated I was sure to not peel the backing all the way off while I was placing my 5x7 card (cardstock) on the laminating sheet. This allowed me to reposition my card and get the placement just right. Once it was where I liked it I pulled the remaining backing off and was able to seal it by folding the laminating sheet in half over the back side of the card and pressed the edges together to create a laminated seal. I was able to trim off some of the excess with regular scissors to have a clean laminated look all from the comfort of my own home! With a little bit of practice it was easy to use this product and preserve the "5x7" cards that I had. I could also envision using this product to preserve pictures/photos in a scrapbook or recipe cards to ensure they don't get damaged if something spills.

Easy to use but a bit underwhelming

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to test out these Staples brand self-adhesive sheet protectors. Although there were no instructions on or in the box I found using them to be very simple and quite intuitive. No additional equipment or tools were needed which I appreciated. The adhesion was strong enough to stick to glitter- and paint-covered construction paper but would still allow me to peel it back to remove air bubbles without damaging what I was laminating. I used them to laminate some holiday ornaments that my kids made at school and mock up some name tags for daycare cubbies. The thinness of these sheets is immediately evident and I found that made any bumps or wrinkles in the paper stand out more than before laminating. It did make accidental creases and air bubbles less noticeable though which was nice. The second thing I found I didn’t like was the translucency. They’re not transparent being similar to very thin waxed paper instead of clear plastic. It muted the bright colors of the ornaments considerably. I would recommend these for higher contrast less detailed projects like name tags. Black font became a dark grey through the laminating sheets which was just fine for my cubby labels. Lastly after trimming the excess lamination away from the ornaments the sheets have begun to separate from each other so these have a limit to how closely you can trim them before product failure. Overall I was underwhelmed by this product but appreciate it’s usefulness in a limited variety of applications.

Difficult to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't love these laminating sheets. At first glance they seemed great. Once I started using them my opinion changed. There are no instructions provided so it's up to you to figure out the best way to apply the sheets. I would strongly recommend practicing first with a document you don't mind ruining even if you are experienced with applying adhesive sheets like these. The backing is very thick and the plastic sheet is very thin. This makes it hard to peel and smooth out the bubbles as you go because the backing is so stiff. It helps to have an old gift card or vinyl scraper tool to smooth things out as you go. I took my time and was very careful but I still got a ton of wrinkles and creases. I didn't really like the finish. It's almost too matte and makes the document seem blurry. It's also important to keep in mind that to encapsulate the paper completely you need to use two sheets. This is a 50 pack but it will only cover 25 documents. I do like that these sheets are 9 by 12 inches so they do fit cross stitch patterns that come with the kits.

Maybe with a bit of practice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to give these self adhesive sheet protectors a try as I had some important documents that needed protecting. Luckily I did a couple of test runs with some less important paper sheets and certificates. First thing I will say is that there were no instructions inside or on the outside of the box. I decided to give it a go anyway as it seemed simple enough. The first thing I noticed was that the sheets were not very clear but almost translucent. The second was that they were very sticky. This could be a positive thing unless you make a mistake. I did in fact make a mistake and there were creases and bubbles across the page. I attempted to remove the adhesive so that I could try again and when I pulled the adhesive protecter off some of the certificate came with it. It was quite disappointing. Maybe with some practice trial and error these could be a good product. I wouldn’t personally try them again.
