Sturdy desk

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This piece is much heavier and more sturdy than I had anticipated. It was easy to set up and looks great in the house. My kid ended up stealing it as her desk for school work. Size is great for a single computer with area to work.

The desk is well made and sturdy. I have plenty of space to spread out on the desk top when working and the drawers are perfect for storing things away when I'm done for the day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Ollie Home Office Desk is great for the kiddos. It's a simple desk with 3 drawers for their crayons and what not. It's very sturdy and is just perfect for our needs. Assembly was fairly easy and the instructions booklet was detailed.

It was very easy to set up and put together. The directions were clear to follow. The desk is sleek and stylish. I like the gray oak color. Highly recommended!

Looks handsome, but difficult to assemble

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We selected this desk to use as a computer and homework station for my son. The box is heavy and I had hoped that the entire desk, except for the legs, was assembled inside this massive box, but that was not the case. There were a few times when putting the piece together that I made a mistake in which side was which and had to go back, take it apart and redo it. That was easy enough. It appears as though this must have happened to others because there is an orange insert in the packaging warning you to follow that one sheet when you came to that part in the instruction booklet. We figured it out and got the thing assembled even though I have to say that it was a bit more of a roll of the dice than some Ikea items. At the end of the day, I ended up not installing 2 of the drawers because we could not get them to line up and close correctly, even after taking off the rail, switching them around, and reinstalling. I have no idea what happened, but I had hit the wall in terms of what I was willing to do to get them to close and decided that it wasn't worth it. I think this was a happy occurrence because it allows my son to simply slide his laptop in and out of the cubby instead of opening the drawer and placing it inside (I mean, I get that it's not difficult to use a drawer and yet a lot of kids won't go through that step). The middle drawer was the one that works and I think it looks great that way. After it was built it looks great, is a sturdy piece, and my son was very happy with it. That instruction booklet could use some help, or maybe just send the finished piece and only require the legs to be attached by the customer. I think that would definitely give you 5 stars and a lot of gratitude coming your way.

Nice looking, difficult assembly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I read through the reviews on this desk after receiving it and was hoping my experience with the drawers would be different than the majority. Unfortunately, it wasn't. They definitely are a pain to put together. Luckily, my fiance does these sorts of things for a living, so I put him on the task, and he figured it out when I was struggling. This desk is definitely beautiful and I love how it looks in our basement office area - it's the perfect size for what we needed, and the drawers will be helpful for the bit of storage space we required (now that they're assembled!). Would I recommend it? Hmm... Looks-wise, yes. Assembly-wise. Not unless you have a couple hours to spend trying to figure out the drawers and a great deal of patience. Overall, we like it, but wouldn't get again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
