Premium German knife blade that has exceeded my expectations for performance. This set has the essential knives you will need daily, with slots to add other knives you may decide you need to have. Comfortable and safe to use, as the bolster helps protected your fingers as you are chopping and dicing. Nice weight, feels good in my hand.

I love cooking and really wanted some great knives.The Pro-S series are wonderful. They have that classic three rivet design and feel like the knives i am familiar with. The forged high carbon German steel really makes a difference.They are super sharp and stay that way for a long time. I like that the block has slots for my current steak knives or if I wanted to purchase the complimenting set in the future.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The "style" of knife is excellent, but...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The block is poorly made and was actually dirty with some sort of grunge smear that needed cleaning. The Chef's knife had small scratches near the name logo. The knives are beautifully balanced and have an excellent feel. The blades are very sharp. The warranty card w/questionaire was very dated and provided a web address that no longer exists. Also, the card contained an invitation to enter a "cash give away" contest that expired on Dec 31, 2007.

Excellent knife set for beginner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My friend purchased this set for me. I am not an experienced cook and these knives are far superior to any others I have owned. I am able to cut up pieces of chicken and slice vegetables much more quickly and with better precision.
