I like the design and weight of these shears. The curve makes it easy to manipulate a chicken. The handles are large and make it easy to snip. I like that I can take them apart for complete cleaning. The locking mechanism keeps them safe and a low profile when in the drawer.
These shears kept sticking. I had to work them open and closed several hundred times before they became smooth. Also the tolerances on the edges are not that close so they do not work well as scissors (not a deal breaker on a shear). Overall, good shears with the spring mechanism, but not as good as they could be.
Almost useless. The angle of handle causes hand to slip forward as pressure is applied resulting in hand position that has no leverage. Can't cut through chicken bones because of this problem. The half of the blades nearest pivot point seem dull and won't cut through chicken skin. Half of blade length nearest tips are sharp and will cut through chicken skin. My less expensive shears work much better.
These are great poultry shears because the are very sharp and substantial when trying to take the backbone out of a chicken or duck. I also like that they are made out of all metal, so it makes it easy to clean and disinfect after using them on chicken. The pull apart feature is another way these are easy to clean.
These are terrific poultry shears. Extremely well constructed for long-time use, they are sharp; and strong enough to stand up to frequent use. They can also be opened up to be cleaned thoroughly - a big plus in my book. The all stainless construction is makes them very durable. The steel is hard enough to be measured on the Rockwell scale. They will crack bones and slice meats beautifully.
These are great shears for separating a bird! I love how the blades can insert into small cavities easily, they cut thru catelege and small bones with ease. they come apart simply for cleaning well. Highly recommend
