I’m getting scratch marks on the boards from the knives and I was trying to find a board that wouldn’t scratch
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Boards are doing their job keeping your knife blades sharp. The fibers of the board are preventing the blade from dulling as it would be on a harder surface.
