Very magnetic and quite a unique piece. Beechwood is amongst the hardest of wood to resist "stab marks"

Absolutely beautiful knife block, excellent design. Extremely well made. Keeps our knives in perfect order and always available. Does not take up a lot of space on the counter. Cannot say enough about this knife block. We are thrilled with this purchase. If you are hesitating to purchase one... don't!!
