[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a single guy now in his 30s, it was time to ditch the cheapo utensils and get a nice set of *~*flatware*~* a process I was not looking forward to. I thought everyone who had ever complimented a place setting was insane - it’s a bunch of forks! What’s the big deal?! But, I don’t want to die alone, and dating in your 30s has very little margin for error, so I began the search. Turns out, I have a lot of opinions once I started reading reviews, going to stores to hold them, etc. I needed 18/10 stainless. I needed a big spoon that was big but not BIG, and a small spoon big enough to be actually useable. I needed long tines on the forks - none of those stumpy things that couldn’t spear a pea. I needed a knife with some heft and decent serration. And, I needed all of it to look and feel modern and sophisticated, but not like it won some obscure postmodern design competition for creating the most uselessly beautiful spork. That’s when I found this set. And I have to say: I’m feeling things about it I didn’t know I was capable of. Every piece feels right in the hand. The lines are clean and contemporary. The little textured detail is understated and adds juuuust enough intrigue to be interesting without being distracting. Fine, I’ll say it, this set is sexy. And my friends’ wives actually want to have dinner parties at my place now. Thus far, they clean up well in the dishwasher, too. I don’t know if these are going to help me find a wife, but honestly, I might not need one. I’ll just sail off into international waters and marry this flatware.
