Bob Kramer, the first Master Bladesmith to specialize in kitchen cutlery designed these knives distinctively, a blades offer remarkable durability, sharpness, corrosion resistance and cutting performance. Kramer knife is fabricated from revolutionary potent core of FC61 fine carbide stainless steel is protected by 100 layers of nickel and stainless steel. Storage block is unique, it shows intricacy. Meiji knife has D-shaped handle perfect for left handed chef. This is a really great block set, perfect for a wedding gift and housewarming gift.

Meji by master bladesmith Bob Kramer merges East and West. The Japanese blade has an edge angle of 9-12 degrees on each side. A more pronounced ridge on the D- shaped Pakkawood handle, combined with the blade's well-rounded heel and spine, permits a comfortable grip. Octagon shaped block has open slots to add other Meji blade profiles of your choosing.

The knives the block....everything is an absolute work of art. Designed by Master Knife Smith, Bob Kramer and manufactured by craftsmen in Japan these knives really are works of beauty. With a 100 layers of ladder Damascus surrounding a FC 61 core these knives are built to last. The exaggerated D shape of the handle is designed to feel secure in both the left and the right hand. These are well balanced yet light weight knives that cut with precision and ease.

If you don't know of Bob Kramer knives, you should! Meiji is great because Bob designed the handle shape to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand. He also designed the shape to fit perfectly for right-handed as well as left-handed use. FC61 steel is very sharp and retains it sharpness so less sharpening means longer lasting. These are beautiful and durable!

What a fabulous set of knives. The FC61 steel provides an incredibly sharp blade that is very durable. The unique handle fits great in the hand for left or right handed people. Meiji is well designed with the use in mind.

These are such incredible knives! Not only are they beautiful with the damascus design and redwood handle, they are extremely comfortable. The handle's unique curve fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. True to Bob Kramer's design, the blade is wide which makes every knife more versatile. The blades are razor sharp and hold their edge really well. I'm amazed with this type of knife coming out of Japan, that they are very durable and chip resistant. The FC61 steel is a game changer in knives and their durability.
