Hi! We are sorry to hear about your disappointment with the warranty on your grill. We have reached out via email to help understand the situation and see what we can do to help. Thanks!
I'd gone without a functioning igniter for well over a year, just using a lighter or matches instead. Finally I researched a replacement and was pleased to see it was available for a reasonable price. I thought I only needed the module but after trying with the existing lead discovered they weren't really working properly either so I replaced those too. First few only sparked #3 but after a little jiggling it started with # 1 and then 2. Now works beautifully. Easy to replace but you do have to remove the front panel and the burner (which was the hardest part as the back bolt/screw was difficult to free up).
I was doing a warranty replacement on my burner tubes on my 8 year old 330 and decided to go ahead and replace the ignitor kit as well since I was pulling the burners. The kit was complete and was easy to install with great documentation
Needed to replace the igniter on my 2013 Weber Genesis grill, as well as the cookbox heat shield and heat deflectors...grill has been used year round since purchase ~ twice a week...shipping was fast (and free) and installation was straightforward...greatly appreciate the fact that Weber grills are rebuildable and long lasting...much prefer the ability to fix things instead of sending to the landfill. Original igniter lasted 12 years, hope to get the same out of the replacement.
Good fix for a broken ignitor - makes it much more convenient to light the grill. Requires a moderate amount of experience with tools, etc. to install. READ THE DIRECTIONS before you start removing screws - the most obvious screws don't need to be removed.
This item works as planned and relatively easy to install with a few available tools. I installed with new tubes that may have made it a bit easier. Unfortunately, in the process of installing I discovered the grease drip tray was very rusted and unfortunately Weber has discontinued this part for my 2014 Genesis 330SS grill. So, for the most part all my repairs are for nothing as grill won’t be useable without grease tray. Bummer, we love the grill.
I installed this about 6 months ago and have had no problems since. Take your time, read everything first, then follow instruction ~ do NOT get ahead of yourself!
