Works well and nonstick coating on the pan insert seems robust. My only complaint is that it's slower than I'm used to. The time-until-done readout seems conservative at the beginning; sometimes it seems to move faster than the clock.

Thank you so much for sharing your review on your new rice cooker. Our Micom rice cookers will take a seemingly longer amount of time when cooking compared to conventional rice cookers. This is because the Micom rice cooker will automatically soak the rice, cook, then steam the rice at the end to achieve the best cooked rice. Conventional rice cookers will only do the cook part of the process so it seems shorter but it is always recommended that the rice be soaked for 30 minutes, then when the rice cooker is done with the cooking, letting it steam by not opening the lid for 15 minutes. The Micom rice cookers will do all of this for you so it will take about 40 to 50 minutes to cook rice. The initial estimated cook time it displays will be the longest time, and then the rice cooker will adjust the cooking time depending on how the rice is cooking.

Perfect rice. Works very well. I gave it 4 stars because the inner pan has to be inserted at a certain angle because the lid doesn't raise as high as our last Zojirushi.
