I purchased this about 5 weeks ago because my dental hygienist told me too. She said I needed a water pik to help my gums. I didn't believe her but I followed instructions. I could not believe how much good came out from between my teeth after I had brushed with my electric toothbrush. Was recommended by my dentist. Love it! My teeth feel so much cleaner, and the massaging effect on the gums is great. Only downside was the first couple of times I used it, I squirted water all over the bathroom countertop. I'm O.K. using it now so no more mess.
