The Good, Waterpik does clean. The Bad, it's the worst designed piece of equipment I have ever used. The Ugly, it's worse than the worst designed piece of equipment I have ever used. Putting the cord back into the unit and you wind up pushing the "ON" button and water shoots out all over the place. The top lid of the water supply is improperly designed and sometimes winds up in the canister because of it's design. If you need the Waterpik be warned because looking at the other Waterpik products the "on off" switch is in the same place. The finger pressure stop on the grip needs a lot of pressure to hold off the water. Yes the water will get in those place to clean your teeth but you may also wind up water spraying your counter and mirror. Will look for another brand if any exists.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for providing feedback! If you find you are inadvertently turning the device on, you may be better suited for a model which features an on/off water control such as The Aquarius Water Flosser: https://www.waterpik.com/oral-health/products/dental-water-flosser/WP-660/
This is a follow-up to my original review. I purchased the Waterpik - Ultra Water Flosser 2-weeks before my last dental visit. My dental hygienist was not enthusiastic when I told her I had switched from string floss (which I loath) to the Waterpik. Two days ago I had my first dental visit after a full 6-months of using the Ultra. I told my dental hygienist this was going to be a make or break visit for my continued use of this product. As soon as she started she said "your gums look absolutely picture perfect" (not bad for a 59 year old). It took just a few minutes for her to clean my teeth and she said all she saw was some staining (I drink a lot of coffee) but not really much plaque. She asked a lot of questions about using the Waterpik. Her main concern was "how messy is it?" I explained there is short learning curve before you stop spraying the wall, mirror or your face but is easy to use and feels great when your done. I think she may have changed her mind about a water flosser. I use my Waterpik twice a day (morning/night) and love it. If you dislike string floss as much as I do, buy a Waterpik, you won't regret it.
I purchased this unit on the advice from my dental hygienist. I had no idea my teeth would end up so clean and feeling like they were clean too. If I miss using it, then I can tell I've missed using it. For me, "the apple will not stray far from the tree".
I'm glad that I got this! It cleans my gums and teeth efficiently and it works like a dream! I am so satisfied that from now on I'll be using this everyday for the rest of my life. Great invention!!!
