I bought mine 4 months ago. I decided to wait before I wrote this review until I visited my dentist. She said my teeth looked great, hardly any plaque and very little bleeding when she cleaned my teeth. I find it a lot easier and faster than flossing. It does a great job.

I had not had a WaterPik in at least 20 years. I carefully read all the reviews of the current models and settled on this one. I love it. The lid that holds the tips is perfect, and the volume of the reservoir is perfect for me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So happy that I purchased the WaterPik. I use it every day - sometimes twice. I think I will have to buy a travel model for when I am away from home.

Not as good as the old model

I purchased this to replace the older model we had. This model is adequate but it has a few things that weren't quite thought out.
The old model has a nice holder that holds the tip in place with no problems other than it could be a bit hard to release the tip.
The new model has a nice easy mount for the tip and a little button to release the tip, problem is the release is right at the top of the handle where you hold the unit. I don't think the makers actually used their own product because the release is in a really bad spot. It seems I'm constantly releasing the tip at the worst possible time, when it's in my mouth trying to clean my teeth. I've had to learn to hold the handle much lower which doesn't feel natural.
The old model had plenty of water force I actually had to leave it under full power and it cleaned my teeth really well.
The new model I have to have the power turned all the way up and it doesn't give the pressure of the old unit.
The old unit had a nice big tank which held enough water to clean all of my teeth.
The new unit has a much smaller tank which I find I have to throw another glass of water or two in to complete the task.
The new unit could also us a bit longer hose connecting the handle to the unit.
The new unit seems to collect a lot of water under the tank which I have to have a wash cloth handy to wipe the water up with.
It is still a good unit but it is really a downgrade from the original. I think if the engineers who designed it actually used it the product could have been made a lot better.
Just my two cents.

Future necessity for Water Pik

While having my teeth cleaned earlier this month, the work being done with my teeth involves have 4 extractions, now just having had 2 posts put in for implants. Final step will result in 4 crowns with a bridge connected to the 2 teeth with implants. Cleaning my teeth with the bridge brought up the need for a water pik as really being the only alternative. Therefore, I started shopping in order to be ahead of the game. I'm still getting familiar with the machine, but am looking forward to next cleaning to see the positive effects which I'm anticipating.
