Simply the best yet. Logs on devices, automatically turns on radar. LOVE when I ride that I can see the traffic approaching on the screen. . Changed my tactics to ride out into the rode, then as the radar shows an approaching vehicle ride hard right to avoid getting hit. LEAGUES better than any Garmin device so far!

lack of gear combo

why cant i get a 54-15 Gear Ratio for example..it only has 53 chain ring setting or lower..co'mon garmin, its the future, not everyone still rides 53's..smh

1040 Great! Solar???

I bought my 2nd 1040. The first was standard; the 2nd solar. I am very pleased with the functionality and performance of the 1040; that is why I bought a 2nd 1040. Thought I'd go for the solar version. The performance of the solar charging is somewhat disappointing. The charging gain, even in full sun, is much less than I anticipated.

I use Garmin equipments since I bought my first bike. The Edge 1040 but all the data together, once I use Garmin Powermeters and Garmin heart rate monitor. The solar feature is just amazing because I barely need to put my device to charge. I highly recommend.
