Disappointed

I was very excited to finally own a pressure cooker and finally cut hours of cooking. But was very disappointed with the results of the dishes I have been making. Each time -I do achieve the tenderness I want to achieve in so much less time than if I were to cook stove top. But my dishes had an odd taste each time. after 3 dishes, it all had a distinctive similar weird taste. And smelling the rubber around the cover was that weird taste going into the dish. A rubber chemical taste. All dishes- a beef dish, pork dish and bean soup ended up going to waste. I can’t afford to use again and waste food. Could it be a defect- or that’s how it’s supposed to be? I’m very disappointed ☹️ 😤 But the look and design is impressive- it was 1 reason I was drawn to it.

We’re very sorry to hear about the issues you’ve experienced with your pressure cooker and understand how disappointing this must be. A rubber or chemical taste can sometimes occur if the sealing ring is new, and we recommend thoroughly washing the ring and running a water-only cycle before cooking food. If the taste persists, there may be a defect, and our Consumer Assistance Center can help review your unit and provide guidance or a replacement. Please contact us at 1-800-726-0190 Ticket #8900542464; we value your feedback and are committed to helping you enjoy your pressure cooker safely and effectively.

This is my 2nd Cuisinart Pressure Cooker! I use mine on average 4-5 times a week! My first Cuisinart I purchased in 2015 and I definitely got my monies worth! The replacement Cuisinart Pressure is the BEST! Highly recommend! Easy to use, and easy cleanup!

Haven’t tried all the settings but it seems to work well once you figure it out. Only complaint is that for quick things like oatmeal, it doesn’t really save much time. It has to heat up, steam for five minutes, and then release steam naturally. All in, about 20 min versus 30 on the stove.

Love the functionality of this pressure cooker. Easy to use and food comes out perfect! On my third model in 5 years, the silicone seal continues to be problematic. Thankfully the second unit was replaced by warranty, hoping we keep this one longer than two years!
