I had the V1 bag which was amazing. 6 years later I decided to replace it with the V2 bag and I couldn't be happier. Materials are improved, padding is softer, more magnets (I love magnets). It's just great. The only small downside are the side pockets which had more space previously but it's nitpicking.
I wanted a versatile bag for work and weekend photography. The 20L version is a dream, easily suitable for an overnight and can stretch to two with the external straps. Super design with loads of great features.
Whether I’m caring my film cameras, paperwork, books, laptop, or my EDC I’m covered. It’s in the name of the product. The everyday backpack gives me the security I need to go through everyday life and then some.
This is the product that started my Peak Design journey. I have been using this backpack for almost five years and I LOVE IT! The great thing about it is that it still looks like new!
The organization dividers are excellent, my 16" MacBook is well protected, and a water bottle fits easily into the outside pockets. These are the features I use the most. Sometimes, I almost forget about the extra features, like the nice zippered inside pockets on the sides. The only thing that could be improved is the sternum strap, which can get lost easily. However, since I seldom use it anyway, it's not a big issue.
The Peak Design Everyday V2 bag is outstanding. Its sleek, durable design, made from weatherproof 400D nylon canvas, is impressive. The customizable FlexFold dividers and numerous pockets, including a laptop sleeve, keep my gear organized. Comfort is top-notch with padded shoulder straps and a breathable back panel. The minimalist aesthetic suits both professional and casual settings. The lifetime warranty adds great value, ensuring peace of mind. Though pricey, the bag's quality and features make it worth every penny. I highly recommend it for photographers, commuters, and travelers. I have my second bag of V2 and couldn't be happier.
I really am enjoying this bag for everyday use. Commuting/biking with my work laptop, rain clothes, misc for the kids etc etc. It's sturdy and I easily fill it out, even the 30L version.
My only drawback is that all the features add weight. It's around 2kg and I would love to perhaps save some of all the magnets, squeeze the padding between laptop and tablet etc. Or the 2 layer exterior just for hiding some straps.
Fit and build is super good. There's though some balancing when putting it on the ground it wants to fall backwards due to the laptop. And I wish that the side pockets could open a bit further up. Seems like the zipper bit is stuck for a full opening in the side.
Would opt for even more expansion with the maglatch.
I would also consider laptop access under the lid instead of th me zip: - potential extra rain cover - if you are already opening the bag for a charger, mouse, headset or something else, you already have the lid open.
Side note; I got this bag as a replacement for another worn out bag after 9 years(!!). The life time warranty definitely makes up for the price.
I purchased this bag over 4 years ago. My immediate impression was of the quality. I have several Peak Design products and quality is what draws me in. However after using this bag for years now, I have an issue with design and functionality. Not being able to get full access to the bag is a problem for me. I love the bag, but the side zipper and top clip openings aren't what I desire. Considering purchasing the new zipper design.
