The sound quality is great and connecting my phone was quick and easy. The disappointment is that I needed to purchase my own charger for it. At this price point I would expect that to be included in the box.
Every knob, switch and detail is well made and carefully considered. The audio quality is great, which deep bass. The battery life is seemingly great, but there’s only 3 battery bars and no percentage. So it’s not easy to see exactly how much juice is left. It charges quickly through USB C though, so I’m not concerned. I was tempted to buy an old school boombox, but this quickly changed my mind. I have no regrets.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The audio quality is impressive as are the esthetics. I would have given it 5 stars but for one annoying and potentially harmful flaw: when switching to or from bluetooth the volume increases to as high as 33 which is extremely loud, particularly as this happens when you are right next to the unit. The first time it happened , my ears rang for 3 days. I almost returned the purchase, and still might, for this reason. My hesitation is that it excels in all other respects. The only workaround seems to be to always watch the volume when switching sources, which is ridiculous.
Just got my SongBook from my beloved for Christmas. We have so many speakers, stereos, etc & it was so so hard saying goodbye to my 1980s era boombox, but man is the SongBook the real deal. Such full rich sound, so many options & the design is everything the future promised minus the jetpacks & flying cars. Simply perfect - thanks you
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only disappointment is that from the speaker layout I though this was stereo, rather than mono with dedicated 4” mid and sub.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is its own sound different from the other high end Music System Home Gen 2. It "eschews" separation. It opts for density and brightness. That is its signature. Also, this power the MAX uses through which it achieves the brightness and density works at different volumes. That is cool. Finally, it gives a punch to recordings that are a little lackluster to begin with. It makes me enjoy these not so lossless recordings more. Thank you.
