A Glorious Piece of Premium Audio Gear!

the Tivoli SongBook Max is a glorious, quirky, premium piece of audio gear. I delayed buying it for almost 2 years. Now that I own it, the question is why? Truth is - in the world of cheap, disposable consumer electronics, it’s expensive. In the case of the SongBook Max, it’s never been more true that “You get what you pay for”. The sound quality is outstanding. Powerful, clear, premium sound. Build quality is exemplary, and the aesthetics are gorgeous. It’s physical art that you can listen to. I heard a quote years ago that I think perfectly sums up the SongBook Max - “When something is thoroughly well done, it often has the air of being a miracle”. A truly outstanding product that I’m overjoyed to own!

Tuner works well. Sounds good. Looks good except flashing LED

I’m happy with this but have to cover the really annoying bright flashing LED light that’s on the front and center of the unit. Weird design choice for a design oriented company. Please update so I can disable the light. I shouldn’t have to cover it.

The user controls are very easy to use and rugged from the power switch onward. Excellent sound quality, though could use a touch more high frequency response, even with the tone controls set to highest. I haven't used the aux in for an instrument yet, but the capability of doing so makes it a nice package overall.

Just received my SongBook MAX today. First impressions: the packaging was excellent, the build quality appears to be high with a solid feel of all dials and switches, and great sound (not an audiophile here, but the sound is rich and deep). Also can’t stop looking at the design. I love it.
