Love these cans !

I had K240s in my home studio. Then they disappeared. Glad to have the newest, and love that they came with both the 1/4 and the mini jacks.

Things to consider

I needed to replace my old bottom-line Sennheisers because the cord has tears in a few places and the wire was being exposed. I use the headphones to play/practice guitar. I'm not a professional by any means, it is more or less a hobby. I bought the AKG240s because they were recommended on more than one list of 'best of' headphones for guitar and the price was right. The good? The sound. Definitely better than my old set. These are a welcome improvement in sound. The concerns? Most headphones I've owned or seen use notches to customize as comfortable a fit to your head as possible when. These are not like that. The way adjustments are made is through what I call a 'continuous' or a 'self-adjusting' system. It operates somewhat like a spring or shocks in a car. When you put them on, there is a certain amount of travel in the "wires" that go overhead so that they use "pulling force" to adjust to your head. I'm sure that's not the best way to describe it, but it's the best I can do for now. Also, going over the head and below the adjusting "wires" is a strap that contains the AKG logo which may be made out of leather which is used to help keep the headphones in place. After using them for more than an hour, it can get a little warm with that strap right on my head, and having no hair on top of my head doesn't help either, so I wish I would have known that ahead of time before I made the purchase. I hope this has been helpful.

Worth it

I really like these headphones. Flat response, lightweight, comfortable. Perfect for mixing. Might not be the sexiest looking headphones (my gf says they make me look like a bumble bee lol) but so far I've worn them for 3 hours straight with no issues. Definitely worth the price. And the shipping was quick too.

I love my ATH m50xbt. Also, my ATH give me a great sounding. It’s flat and a little wide. Soundstage and imagine are more than great. However, THESE AKG K240 are nuts. Acoustic songs and live are amazing. By the way, for a better performance an AMP helps. There is one thing that I feel a little disappointed about. The elastic band which works with the suspension system looks like it won’t last long enough . I hope it keeps on my head for a long time because I really love these k240 headphones.

Great frequency range

Our son recommended these as he has used this brand since college 30 ears ago. I use them to listen to internet music and the sound and clarity is the best Ihave ever had.
