Horrible Battery Problems
on May 29, 2026
Posted by: Kevn
Had a Samsung ring that lasted a little over a year before experiencing dramatic battery decline. Service options were limited and expensive. Went through all the troubleshooting questions/process multiple times. Finally decided to move away from the Samsung Ring to Oura. There has been a lot of negative feedback in a lot of reviews on this ring, so Samsung should admit it has a high fail rate and develop a fix - simply repeating Samsung Care is available and the 1 year warranty does NOTHING to solve the problem. For a known issue like dramatic battery decline, rings should be swapped out without charge.

Salutations Kevn, Thanks for taking the time to share your sentiments with us regarding your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Ring. We value your feedback as we continue to make improvements on our product line to align with the needs of our customers. As you know, Samsung provides a 12-month warranty for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. It could cover events like accidental damage, mechanical breakdowns, and potentially theft and loss. Samsung Care+ truly offers you the ultimate peace of mind when it comes to protecting your investment. Our partners at UbreakIfix are also available to assist you with any repair needs you may have. When it comes to charging your Galaxy Ring, you have three options: USB-C charging, charging wirelessly, and charging with Wireless PowerShare. Each of these methods requires using the Galaxy Ring case that came with your ring. Each ring's case is specific to its ring. The Galaxy Ring should be fully charged before using it for the first time. If the battery is completely drained, it may need to be charged for at least ten minutes before it can be used. No matter which charging method you use, you must charge the Galaxy Ring in the case that came with it. Please take a moment to check out, "How to charge the Galaxy Ring" to help resolve what you have described to be experiencing with your Galaxy Ring battery. With the Galaxy Ring, you're able to slip your device on and forget it with a seven-day charge that won’t slow you down. Combined with a full cradle charge, you can use Galaxy Ring for up to 14 days without plugging into an outlet. Please feel free to review, "Galaxy Ring won't charge" to help resolve what you may be experiencing with your device. Poor Product

Horrendous product. Purchased the ring about 9 months ago and use sparingly the first 4 months, daily for last 5 months. Battery life about 5 days per advertised. Last week, the ring battery suddenly dropped from 60% remaining to 0% in matter minutes and drops 20% each 2 hours. Ring does not last a day now. Contacted warranty support and the support website says the ring is out of warranty now even though it should be a 1 year warranty. Ditching the samsung ring and shopping for alternative ring now.

Hello there DrJCPC, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us about your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Ring. We appreciate your critiques as we continue to improve the functionality and performance of our product line. Samsung offers a 12-month warranty on your device for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. We also offer Samsung Care+ which can be added to eligible devices. It's similar to an extended warranty plan and an insurance package combined that provides protection beyond the standard manufacturer's warranty. It could cover events like accidental damage, mechanical breakdowns, and potentially theft and loss. Samsung Care+ offers you the ultimate peace of mind when it comes to protecting your investment. On a single charge, the Galaxy Ring can last up to 7 days, depending on usage. Battery life may be extended by up to 30% if worn alongside a Galaxy Watch, as this helps reduce redundant feature usage. For optimal battery performance, it's recommended to store the Ring in its charging case when not in use. If left outside the case, the Ring's sensors will remain active, resulting in unnecessary battery consumption. Battery life for your Galaxy Ring can vary depending on environmental factors like temperature, network environment, and signal strength can all affect battery life. Also, usage patterns: frequent use of features like sleep tracking, work auto detection, and gesture controls can impact how long the battery lasts. Please feel free to take a look at, "How to charge the Galaxy Ring" if you would like to learn more about the factors that may be impacting the life of your device. If you would like any further assistance after, please feel free to reach out to Samsung Support. Thanks for being a dedicated Samsung customer! - Debra

Not great long term
on November 15, 2025
Posted by: JMack
This ring was great at the beginning but like other reviews, after just 10 months I have to charge the ring every other day. Just this morning after I charged it to 100%, it dropped to 87% within an hour and a half. I was simply in the kitchen doing tasks. It also doesn't accurately count steps all the time. Example when I get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, it doesn't count the steps or if I've been laying down for a bit then get up to do things, it won't count the steps. It also isn't tracking my sleep as accurate. Within just 3 months of having it, the color started wearing off on the edges (I purchased a black ring). Really disappointed in the longevity of this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello JMack, Thank you for taking the opportunity to share your thoughts with us about your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Ring. We value your candor and critiques as we improve our product line based on customer feedback like yours. Please ensure that your Galaxy Ring fits properly and that your location permissions are enabled for the Samsung Health app, if your device is not tracking your steps correctly. The Galaxy Ring tracks steps using its internal sensors to detect your hand's movement. A few steps might not be counted if your hand is stationary (e.g., pushing a stroller), the ring isn't worn correctly, or if the app is set to prioritize data from your phone over the ring. Feel free to review the resources provided below to help resolve what you've described to be experiencing with your battery life. Very pleased with the pairing and the integration to the Galaxy ecosphere! I no longer wear my watch to sleep and can use that downtime to charge the watch while the ring keeps track of my sleep. Battery anxiety gone... :D
If you're looking for step and sleep tracking during more times of your day than you can wear a smartwatch, or don't have an interest in a smartwatch, this is a solid product.
Understand it does *nothing else* outside of that.
Being new technology, the price is understandable. But it's hard to justify what it does to improve your life for the cost. It can be tempting to have the cool new thing, which is what got me...but ultimately the watch does more for less. And both together provide minimal accuracy bumps (supposedly).
It's nice to be able to wash hands with it on. I have significantly more data and better sleep tracking than I ever have thanks to wearing it at night. It's not good to wear when lifting weights.
Look for a bundle and save deal if you're interested or stay tuned for future variations if you're on the fence.
I would recommend this to a friend!
