Horrible. The extenders need to much closer to the router than older system. Plus devices lose connectivity a lot—in and out for no apparent reason. I’m frustrated and disappointed—for all that money, should be flawless
Other than continued support, the performance of this 770 series router plus two satellites system is not much better than my two generations old AC3000 system with one router and one satellite. I upgaded because Netgear decided to drop support of the AC3000 and I was hoping for much better performance. I have 900 Mbps up and down wired coming into the router but get only get about 150 Mbps on wifi in some rooms, one of which is just 26 ft from the router (but does pass through two drywall walls and a wood sliding closet door). Ok for most purposes but not what I was expecting.
I am now entering my third day trying to set up my new Orbi 770 series. I am thinking of throwing it in the bin and going back to my Orbi 30, even though there will be no more updates. I finally managed to get the router working, but the satellites are defeating me.

I bought this product to replace a 3 unit Netgear AC3000 that was losing corporate support in June. I use it as a wireless access point for my home network which consists of about 25 devices spread across 4200 sq ft. Set-up was a bit of a struggle. The new Orbi 770 was unable to establish connection to the internet through my Xfinity X1 gateway cable modem. After 24hrs of frustration trouble shooting I replaced the X1 with a newer X1 and the new Orbi 770 reached the internet. Once connected, all went smoothly.
