I have been designing and making wool/silk rugs in Nepal for years. The first question is "How do I clean my expensive rug when I only need to spot clean?" My answer is "Get yourself a Little Green Machine!" I have given many of these to customers and explain that they can have it ready to go when they have company. If someone spills a glass of wine, grab your machine and have the spill extracted in no time. . . .while it is fresh and not 'set'. I have been thanked a dozen times. I also keep one handy at home. With 2 dogs it's a "rug-saver". . .!!!
I've only used my Little Green twice, but so far I am thrilled with it! I'm challenged when it comes to figuring out how to use new machines, but I figured out how to use and how to clean it afterward without any help from my "handy hubby". Both times, once I started cleaning, I just kept on, and wound up cleaning some places on furniture, and looked for spots all over my house to clean. I highly recommend this product!
Love, love, LOVE this machine. It works great, I've had it for almost a year now and it's been a lifesaver while potty-training and for those unexpected little surprises that two very young children and a dog love to cause. My only issue with it is it has effectively trapped dog hair in the head of the cleaning piece. I've tried everything to get it out. It is gross to look at, and slightly embarrassing to use in front of people. But much less embarrassing than a spotty carpet

Thanks for the review. If cleaning attempts have been unsuccessful in getting the hair out of the brush, you can replace it. Here is a link to the tool: http://www.bissell.com/parts/?sc=part&productid=2854&partid=4397&icid=ccrr
I've had it for over a year and it proved to be indispensable in cleaning up my elder dogs mistakes, my food droppings and whatever else I dropped on the rug. The included Bissell liquid worked quite well with the machine, as did another brand of cleaner. It did prove challenging to clean the dirty water tank until I realized that directing a water stream onto the indentation splashed the water effectively to clean out the interior of the tank. My only complaint is that fur and dirt get caught in between the clear and colored plastic pieces. Overall: excellent product that I've recommended to others.
I bought this maybe 4 months ago and it leaks all over the place everytime I use it. It didn't the first time, but every time since then I have to put a towel underneath it. I'm not sure how to fix the problem. I read through the manual and all my parts are there and I close it tightly.

Jess, here is a link to some simple troubleshooting that may help. The o-ring is typically red or black. http://www.bissell.com/FAQDetail.aspx?id=1189&icid=ccrr
I have had a little green machine since it came out. My daughter is 29 now and I had one when she was a young because there was always spills. Main reason I bought one was because when I bought a puppy I didnt want my house to smell like urine. So when the puppy would go I would rush and suck urine out spray it and suck it out again and my house never smells bad. It is great for spot cleaning i have kept my carpet looking good and I havent cleaned it in long time. I wouldnt live without my little green machine.
I have owned a Little Green Machine in all it's forms, since it's inception. I could not imagine not having a Little Green in my cleaning arsenal. I use it for everything....carpets (especially track areas) & upholstery both inside my home & in my vehicles. I bought this current version because, after 14 years, my last one finally wore out. The new model I purchased is the one which does NOT heat the water. The hot water from my tap is hot enough to do the job & I feel the extra expense to get the version that heats the water just is not necessary. I find this design is a big improvement to the previous design with regard to the location of the liquid holding containers. A tip I would recommend: Going over the areas you cleaned with just the suction several times after the initial scrubbing & watch the fluid as it moves through the clear part of the cleaning brush until there is very little going through. Remember, the more moisture you extract, the quicker the dry time. I also speed up dry time by turning on my ceiling fans &/or using an ocelating fan. Once again, I would not be without one of these machines.
This is really a question more than a review. I've only used my Little Green a couple of times but the water never seems to get warm like I expected it to. It does not seem to heat at all. Is that normal?

If your Little Gree ProHeat only has one switch that activates the heater when turned on. Older models had two switches. Again, it will heat the water temperature 25 degrees warmer (up to 180 degrees). I hope this helps.
