Straightforward Install, Solid Build, Does the Job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Kidde smoke/CO detector is exactly what it should be: simple, functional, and not annoying. The mounting plate lines up cleanly, the wiring harness is idiot-proof, and the whole thing snaps together without any drama. The unit feels sturdy, not cheap. Setup with the app is uneventful, which is what you want from a safety device. No unnecessary fluff, no gimmicks. It’s a clean upgrade if you want a modern detector that just works and doesn’t waste your time.

NOT wirelessly interconnected.

I assumed that since these alarms were smart and WiFi interconnected, that if one alarm goes off, they all will.
That’s not the case. They are only hardwire interconnected. Should have gone with the cheaper option that is wirelessly interconnected.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for your message and for reaching out to Kidde. If your wireless alarms indicate connection lost, please reset the devices per the user guide, and bring units closer together during setup. If possible, reduce interference by relocating devices. If a device won’t re-link after reset, call 1-800-880-6788 so we can assist or arrange a replacement.

Disappointed with mounting angle

Unit was easy to install and worked very well with Ring App in terms of setup. However, disatisfied with the aesthetic orientation of the unit. Followed the instructions making sure the "A line" on the mounting plate was parallel to the wall but unit when installed on plate is at a 45 degree angle to the wall. The ceiling junction box used throughout my home did not allow the use of any other mounting holes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Do not buy these

I installed 7 of these and they have been nothing but a hassle. They go off for no reason at all times of the day. We have had the fire department show up 3 times so far. It is also really hard to see, in the Ring app, which unit is causing the actual problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works as it should

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The smoke/CO2 alarm units work great, but know that you'll likely need to buy an attachment for them to work with older units. No concerns or worries. I recommend these units (we replaced four units in our home).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice smart smoke + carbon monoxide detector. Easy to replace with my current detector in my living room. The voice alerts are clear on it and the feature of it on the ring app is an additional bonus. Definitely recommend this in every household to stay safe!
