So disappointed!

This was given to our boat supply store as a replacement for the 'orange core' blue tape that was low tack, exterior 60 day tape that 3M discontinued. This purple tape cannot be used on boat exteriors!! In one day, with no moisture, it left it's adhesive on the enamel painted surfaces all over the boat!! (I do professional varnishwork). Adhesive is not easy to clean up!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

pulls paint from ceiling

I bought this product because of its reputation. I put the tape all around my windows, door frames and the ceiling. When I pulled off the tape two days later, some of the tape came off in pieces and the tape pulled the paint off of the ceiling. The ceiling paint was only about five years old. I am very disappointed in this product.

Left residue on floor - Caution

I purchased this tape yesterday at Home depot. Used it to adhere red paper to protect my wood floors while contractors worked today. Contractors done, removed paper to see residue left by tape. Looks very stuck on, couldn't remove at all. WTH, any suggestions to remove?

There are several cleaning options (test first in discrete area): a citrus-based cleaner, a hydrocarbon solvent or turpentine, or a toluene-based adhesive cleaner. Use a cheesecloth or loose nap fabric rags to allow adhesive residue to embed into the fabric. After using cleaners, rinse surface with large amounts of clean water. If the adhesive is highly cured, scraping may be required to break up the adhesive to remove it. We would like to gather more details about your experience. I bought this to do a feature wall with dimensional markings using the tape for the design. Taped up the wall and it looked great. Put two coats of paint on it. I decided to wait two days to make sure the paint dried before I pulled the tape. Directions say you have up to 60 days to remove the tape. I slowly removed it and places of the paint on the wall came off. Not only that, the paint seeped slightly under the tape all throughout the whole project. I even pressed hard on the edges so that it wouldn’t seep.

Bad lot number

I’ve used this tape before but I believe they have a bad lot. I used it for a high end client in a very nice high rise and it peeled off all of their very expensive wallpaper and paint. I’m now having to replace/ remove and paint and pay for damages done.
