[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for the Metabo HPT 18v 1,050 Lumen LED Handheld Spotlight (UB18DHQ4). MY BACKGROUND I'm a homesteader and I also own a business where I do various jobs in woodworking and carpentry for my customers. I'm also a hunter, hiker, camper, etc. I have high expectations for my power tools, because I need them to perform as they should so I can make money and keep the homestead operating.
WHAT I LIKE: This light is bright for its size! It is really not much bigger than the Metabo HPT 250 lumen LED flashlight (UB18DEQ4), but it is WAY brighter (200 lumens vs. 1,050 lumens). I like that it has three brightness settings and a strobe setting. The strobe setting might seem silly to some, but it can be very useful if you're in a situation where you need to get someones attention. I like that it offers a very large flood light option and that is can be adjusted from wide flood light to a tight spotlight. It has a far reach as well. I can shine this light across our entire farm and see the tree line on the backside of the farm, which is about a 1/4 mile. It shines farther than my eyes can see with clarity. I like the very robust rotating hook on the back, which is clearly made to hook over two-by lumber, but can hook over many other materials. There is also threading for belt hooks on each side of the light. I like that it's very well made. It's obvious that the plastic is much higher quality than that of the standard 200 lumen flashlight (likely glass infused). The grip is also very ergonomic when held in the upright position. The grip is like a drill/driver grip. Very nice! I also like that it can be used with both 18v and 36v/18v Multivolt batteries. I like that it's IP55 rated (water and dust resistant). That's a great addition! WHAT I DON'T LIKE: The grip is not ergonomic if you use it in the horizontal position. It's very awkward and not well balanced (somewhat depending on the size battery used. I have never liked a magnification lens on a flashlight, which this has. You pull the head in or out in order for it to be a larger flood or a tighter spotlight. When it's pulled all the way out to make a tight spotlight, the light area is a square. This just cheapens a nice product, in my opinion. I would rather Metabo HPT pick a static position for the spotlight than to use this magnification lens style of technology. CONCLUSION: Overall I do like this light. It's fairly priced and is a great addition to the Metabo HPT tool line. The compact size makes it a very compelling choice over the competition.

Insanely bright!

Beyond impressed with the performance of the spotlight! Incredibly bright, compact, versatile, and lightweight. Having and adjustable lens makes the light extremely versatile, it means you can use it as a spot light for long distance but also as a flood light if your working in a basement or attic. Very pleased with the light and the build quality is excellent 👌🏼. If you have metabo hpt batteries and you are looking for a good floodlight don't hesitate to pick it up. Also, I have been big into flashlights for many years, they say 1,050 lumens and I would disagree and say it's more. Maybe 1,050 lumens in floodlight mode, but in spotlight it seems like 3,000. Crazy Bright!

I got this spotlight couple months ago and it has replaced my Dewalt light .. you will not regret buying this light .
Battery last a very long time on it .

Really handy spotlight!

This spotlight has been very handy on my boat. No wires to plug in, no worries about running down the boat starting battery or bad connections. Has a long throw to light the way on the Ohio river at night.

This is my go to grab light from most applications. Easily adjust for a right hotspot or nice wide bright flood. Comfortable and easy to hold with a two or three amp hour battery. I’ve use this for many applications and hasn’t let me down.

I picked this light up thinking it was a flashlight. Wow! This thing is sweet. Perfect for taking the dog out at night, or lighting up under the hood of the truck.

The spotlight is great at night, it shines so bright and a great distance. I use it when I'm outside at night to see better, I have the flashlight also but the spotlight is so much brighter and 100% of my tools are metabo, wouldn't use any other since I started buying these tools and I keep adding new ones to it, so Thanks for having such reliable tools.
