I have been sewing for many, many years and already have two machines, not counting the 2 antique machines I inherited. I purchased this Singer because my dressmaking machine couldn't handle heavy or bulky fabrics. I wasn't expecting much, but it is perfect and has become my most used machine. The stitch quality is beautiful, and it handles all types of fabric. The straighforward design and features are a plus in my mind. I can make a lot of complicated things with this simple machine.
This machine is just what I needed to mend clothes and sew some clothes and costumes. The variety of stitches and ease of operation has made it a pleasure to sew on.
I don't have any experience with sewing machine, so getting everything set up was a bit involved because I was starting from zero. It would be nice if Singer did longer tutorials for when you first receive your machine, but regardless. The machine is powerful, sews beautifully and works fabulously on my denim which is what I mostly need the machine for. I can't wait to sew all kinds of things with it. I recommend this and I am so glad I waited for it to come back in stock instead of settling for the 4411 which was in stock. The 4452 has the automatic needle threading, accessories and more stitch options so it is worth iT
This was my second heavy duty sewing machine I bought. The first one was many years ago and it was getting weak and making lots of noise. I am sewing very much for gifts and patchwork. I know I got my miles out of that machine. Happy to have a new one. I'm from Germany and bought my first Singer machine over 50 years ago; great products, was not as happy with other brand machines.
we are a nonprofit- The Makers Hub. And we have a Tool lending library in the city of compton and a small Makerspace. These heavy duty singers are wonderful, easy for students to learn on , rarely bind up, and we just love them. They Are our favorites. I wish we could get some more, So we can replace some of our Other types of machines that were donated.
I’m not a professional but I do enjoy sewing in my spare time. My mom and sister are seamstresses so, I learned a few things watching them. These are just a few of the features that I love on the Heavy Duty 4452. It has all the bells and whistles, easy to change presser foot, bobbin drops in and so many different stitches. I’m loving it! My only issues are 1) the pedal is a bit cheesy, it’s made of light weight plastic instead of metal. 2) It only comes with a quick guide so, if you really need to figure out a feature on the machine you have to download and print the manual online. Other than that, I love it.
