The VY27UQ monitor does a wonderful job reducing 10x the heat from the monitor I was using, which caused me heat sickness problems in my hot building. When it is hot and I have a lot of white windows open, the monitor will totally blank for about 1.5 seconds and then come back on, sometimes every 15 - 30 seconds. If I cover the white area with my Linux green lettering on black background terminal windows, it stops doing that. If I am careful, I can have an email window open without problems. Another annoying "feature" I have not found a way to turn off is when I come back to my computer and it has blanked the screen, when it unblanks the screen, the monitor puts up a banner in the center of the screen saying which video input is sending it the signal for a few seconds. This forces me to wait until the banner goes away before I can do anything with what is on the center of the screen. I like the monitor's high resolution and color rendering and particularly the number of choices for screen brightness (I use the "dark room" setting).
