Take too long to turn on

I do want to say I love this flat iron. My daughters have gifted me two in the past. But this time I decided to order one just in case my last one stop working well it did stop working. I know purchased this one in September 2024. It is now January 2025 and I鈥檝e just started to use it. This is the first time I have ever known the flatter to take a long time to turn on and as you know, there is no on and off switch. I don鈥檛 wrap my cord I put it in the same formation in which I purchased it when I finish flat ironing my hair. I have to rub the cord out a lot shake it before it comes on and it still takes about 2 to 3 minutes this is a long time for me. Can you tell me why this is happening?

I ordered this, 2 curl pro's and the ring and I absolutely LOVE all these tools!! Leaves my hair silky smooth!! I go to bead with my hair wet, wake up to dry frizzy hair use any of these tools and my hair comes out beautiful in less than 20 minutes. I get SO many compliments on my hair its unreal!! Would tell anyone GET these ASAP!!
