Noise Canceling does not work
on June 11, 2026

I bought these to replace my lost 500s. I also own many other Sony audio products including earbuds and headphones that do noise canceling well. The noise canceling on these does not work. I went through all the troubleshooting steps and they simply don't noise cancel. They are also a weird awkward shape - much bigger than the 500s. 500s were much better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Response from sony.comBy Sony North America Support, June 11, 2026
Hi kkinra,

We are very sorry to hear that your WF-C710N earbuds are not meeting your expectations, especially since you’ve had such great experiences with our other noise-canceling products.

Since you have already tried the standard troubleshooting, the issue with the noise cancellation may actually be tied to the physical fit. Unlike the WF-C500s, the WF-C710N features active noise-canceling technology, which relies heavily on a tight, airtight seal in your ear canal to block out ambient sound. We highly recommend experimenting with the different sizes of silicone earbud tips included in the box to see if a more secure fit restores the noise-canceling performance.

If changing the tips doesn't resolve the issue, we definitely want to look into this further for you. Please reach out to our team directly here: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US

Thanks for choosing Sony.

Best regards,
Eliab

Headphones don't connect to the terminal. Will not charge. Will always reconnect to your phone while it's in the case. When you finally get it to not the case blinks until it dies. Actually the worst wireless headphones I've ever had. Spend another 20 and save yourselve.

Hello there,

Thank you for considering Sony products.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with your WF-C710N earbuds. We understand how frustrating it can be when your device does not connect properly or charge as expected. To help resolve these issues, please try the following steps:

Check the Cable: Ensure you are using the supplied USB-C cable and that it is plugged into a stable power source, such as a wall adapter or a powered computer port, to make sure the case is fully charged.

Clean the Charging Contacts: Even invisible skin oils or dust can interfere with the charging connection. Please clean the contacts on both the earbuds and the charging case carefully.

Reset the Headset: Follow the reset instructions available here: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2986/v1/en/contents/TP1001829718.html

I bought them because they were supposedly good headphones; everything was fine for the first few months. But then one earbud or the other wouldn't work. When I put them back in the case, they wouldn't charge, even though they were still paired. I simply don't recommend them; save your money. I don't know if this is just a problem with this model. But I'm never buying anything from Sony again.
Response from sony.comBy Sony North America Support, January 22, 2026
Hi Ivas56,

We are truly sorry to hear about the charging and connectivity issues you’ve encountered with your WF-C710N. To resolve this, we recommend cleaning the charging contacts on both the earbuds and the case with a dry cotton swab to ensure a secure connection, then performing a factory reset by following the steps in the Sony Headphones Connect app: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2986/v1/en/contents/TP1001829717.html. If the earbuds continue to stay paired while in the case, it usually indicates they aren't seating correctly on the pins; ensuring the firmware is up to date can also help stabilize these functions.

Thanks for choosing Sony.

Best regards,

Eliab

Spend your money elsewhere

I love them in theory but of course you can’t expect much for the price. Love the color and the fit. Just wish they were better quality product. First pair died in less than 2 months. It took a VERY long unreasonable amount of time to get the warranty replacement. Six months later the replacement stops charging and one bud never charges past 20%. The ANC is good for the price but at least 5x a day or more the buds loose connection with my phone and drop in and out. Apple should steal the design and finally make pods that stay put. I feel like Sony dipped their toe to challenge the low wend market and may have realized it wasn’t worth the trouble. I doubt there will be another generation. But if there is they need to up the quality and price, if necessary

I use ear buds for watching TV because I live in an apartment and want to keep from hearing my neighbors and them from hearing me. These are the best yet. They sync with TV extremely well and don't turn off when you adjust them in your ears like my old Bose ones. Got two sets and they work great!! Super happy!
Response from sony.comBy Sony North America Customer Support, January 2, 2026
Hi Kitty8,

We are thrilled to hear that your new earbuds are working so well for your apartment living! It is wonderful to know that the seamless TV sync and reliable touch controls are providing the "super happy" experience you were looking for, and we are honored that you chose to get two sets.

Thank you for trusting Sony.

Last time buying from Sony

I have had these for about a year. The sound and fit are okay at best. The big issue for me is that they constantly stop charging. The only advice I have gotten from support is to clean the buds and case which I do regularly anyway, It has not made a difference, they will be fine for a month or so and then suddenly stop charging. Quite frustrating.
Response from sony.comBy Sony North America Customer Support, December 15, 2025
Hi Jupiter1111,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Sony WFC710N headphones. We’re sorry to hear about the charging issues you’ve been facing—it’s understandably frustrating.

Bass heavy, good ANC, TERRIBLE fit
on December 6, 2025

The earbuds for sound and ANC are good. The controls are horrendous and something that uses a swipe AND tap functionality would be better than hitting different earbuds 4 times to change the volume. The fit is HORRIBLE, even with the correct silicone ear piece. This could be fixed with a simple silicone slide-on cover with an ear fin, but I ended up having to get aftermarket universal ear fin silicone pieces to attach to them. This gets them to stay in place, but then the sound quality is worse and they don't fit in the charging case because they're bulky. There are aftermarket fins for nearly every other major headphone brand (beats, jbl, airpods, bose, etc.) but not these headphones. These are so bulbous that any position other than sitting straight at a desk makes them fall out. SONY do better. You've been getting feedback that earbuds shaped life this don't stay in. Time to change something.

Very disappointing

The sound quality is what you’d expect from Sony, and that is not a concern. My negative impression is based on the overall experience using these buds. I previously had the LinkBuds S and they were exceptional. The C710N are not even remotely close. I find the 710N does not have a good quality fit even after changing the earbud tips. They constantly come loose and fall out. What I find most surprising is that the noise cancelling is very poor compared to the LinkBuds. I’m sure part of that is the poor fit. Regardless, the fit means I can’t give a positive review on these earbuds. Plus, they seem oddly large compared to others.

Response from sony.comBy Sony North America Support, December 5, 2025
Hi Busterflash,

We are truly sorry to hear that the WF-C710N earbuds are not meeting your expectations, especially concerning the fit and noise canceling performance compared to your previous LinkBuds S. We understand how frustrating it is when earbuds constantly feel loose, and you are correct that a poor fit significantly impacts noise cancellation. We recommend trying a slow, firm twisting motion (up and back) when inserting the buds, as sometimes this helps secure the seal better. If the issues persist, please reach out to our support team: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US with your exact model and purchase date; they can offer more tailored troubleshooting or discuss alternative options to ensure you have a comfortable and satisfying listening experience.

Thanks for choosing Sony.

Best regards,
Eliab
