This little cube is awesome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to admit, that when I first received my cube and opened the box, my jaw dropped open a bit because it's so small! I thought it would expand and you know, look more impressive. But it does not look, "impressive", it's "cute".Here's the thing about this little cute device. It packs a punch! I have populated the internal ssd, and notice no difference between using the external drive (running applications that have databases on it). I was also concerned about the number of Thunderbolt ports be enough. I'm running a 10 port USB hub from it with a multitude of devices as well as a old 4 drive RAID off the USB hub and one Thunderbolt 5 port w/o any issues or bottle necks from the system. So ya, it's not as "cool" as I expected it to be, it's only "cute". But it packs a punch.Purchase it without concern.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is just what I've been waiting for! Makes life with my Mac Mini so much easier! Compact and with ample ports, I am working more smoothly and spending less time trying to configure my setup. Satechi hit a home run with this dock. Essential to maintaining a good workflow.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] my desktop was a rat's nest of cables, assorted docks and devices. the CubeDock consolidated 90% of the mess into one organized, functional and professional work space. It has totally transformed my computing experience for all the best reasons

Great T5 Dock!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have been using the dock over the last couple of weeks. Works great with my mac and LG monitors and M5 Macbook pro. It has plenty of connections and tidy layout lets me route my cables discretely at the back of the unit. It has a small footprint too which saves on desk space setup. Best thing is the built-in SSD enclosure! Couple of things to note. Maybe this is how I have things set-up but pressing the power button will not eject the drive in the SSD slot first so I get the error that the drive was not ejected properly. Secondly, the internal fan kicks in pretty quickly, whether I have the SSD mounted or not. The fan is a little noisy but not distractingly so. Overall really happy with this device! Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wish there were photo versions of this or one that had ONLY high speed USB C slots vs. USB A.I have nothing with USB A connections (too slow) and NEVER use SSD cards or micro cards. CFExpress type A &B are for Photographers. This would be a great portable photographer’s aid for travel that would help us reduce the number of cables and separate devices we need to travel with.

Seems to run very hot ...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The connectors it has are perfect for my use BUT the case is HOT TO THE TOUCH. There is an 8TB SSD inside and am a bit worried that it could be damaged from all this heat. There is an additional 8TB SSD in the separate case on top. The M4 Mac mini case is cool to the touch.

Almost great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Satachi Cube Thunderbolt 5 SSD Enclosure and Hub is a nice device. The quality of construction is high, and the lines are clean and pleasing to the eye. The heat dissipation function is somewhat lacking, however. The unit went to full screaming fan mode within minutes of install with an WD_Black SN850X 8TB NVMe SSD with Heatsink, and had to be restarted twice in order to curtail the racing fan. Ultimately required relocation, away from every other device in order to run without overheating. Somewhat disappointing to say the least.
