The latch broke immediately. I still use it, but I had to wrap packing tape around it to close it. Poor poor quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Runs very hot

This seems to work fine but runs very hot. It’s also very large, relative to the size of the SSD is side and to the size of all-in-one external SSD drives. The plastic enclosure for heat disbursement also seems like an afterthought and does very little if anything to cool the device.
I would recommend this to a friend!

With a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD, it gets up to 135 F on the enclosure surface

It's fast and consistent at 3000 both Write and Read with a 2023 MacBook Pro M3 Max, but the temperatures on the casing surface is very hot. With both the clear plastic covers and bare, the temperatures can exceed 135 F.I now use a mini heat sink if I need to use it for extended use.

This is my second USB4 NVMe SSD Pro enclosure as I was so impressed with my first one. Excellent product that has proved very convenient and useful in allowing me to access my data across multiple devices

Easy to set up, stays cool

This essentially allows me to use a really high-speed NVMe SSD as a portable external drive with my laptop. It never seems to get hot, either.

Working wonderfully. Getting 3100+ reading and writing speeds with my WD Black 850SX 4TB drives on my Mac Studio M2 Ultra with the Black Magic 5TB disk speed test
