Quick and works like a champ!

Paired it with a Crucial 2TB 2230 drive and it’s wicked fast on my iPhone, iPad Pro, and Mac MiniSo far haven’t gotten it hot enough for the fan to spin up, so not loud (yet)

Never runs for more than 30min

Not sure what’s up with this enclosure but I have tried multiple memory cards and have successfully transferred and accessed only to have the drive disconnect itself. Betting the enclosure requires too much power to run the cooling fan and shorts out. This occurs both while plugged directly into my laptop, thru a dongle and thru a powered USB hub.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am a sucker for data storage so this just had to be on my shopping list ! This is a very versatile and clever product that enables large quantities of data to be stored on a small device whilst keeping read / write times fast.

Not great for large file transfers or phones

I tried copying a fairly large number of files from my PC to this device and it disconnected halfway through the process. Furthermore, I tried plugging it into my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and it wouldn't recognize it. Not sure if this is only for Apple devices. If so, that would be a shame and huge missed opportunity.

The Stechi Mini NVMe SSD enclosure was my introduction to that format. Now I have one in my Mac Mini stand (which will be replace by the new, smaller, Mac Mini stand, when Satechi releases is), and another in my Mini NCMe enclosure. Works good. Interesting way to package the USB cable, so you don't forget it (that noose to the let of the box is a cable).
