Cheap. Won’t last

I bought this crockpot and it only lasted a 2 years. I’ve grown up with the brand name crockpot knowing these typically last for 10+ years. So beyond disappointed with the quality of this and how cheap it is made. The unit no longer heats up and I had to throw away my whole meal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I received this for my bridal shower 2 years ago and since then the lid no longer latches and the crock/stone is peeling! Definitely not safe to use as the paint chips and peels.

No real difference between high and low temp

The high temp is only 15°F higher than the low temp.
After 2 hours, low temp was at 190°, and high temp was 205°.
Seems as though the low temp cooking does the exact same thing as the high temp. Food is way overcooked cooking on low for 8 hours. Can't even use high temp for short times. Doesn't make sense.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello
Thank you for taking your time to post this review.
The difference between High and Low settings on a Crock-Pot slow cooker lies primarily in the time it takes to reach the simmer point, although both settings stabilize at the same temperature of 209°F. Specifically:
• Low: Takes approximately 7-8 hours to reach the simmer point.
• High: Takes about 3-4 hours to reach the simmer point.
Once the food reaches the simmer point, the total cooking time will depend on the cut and weight of the meat to achieve optimal flavor and texture. Most dishes can be prepared using either setting.

If your unit is not heating up correctly, please reach out to us directly so we can assist you further. You can reach us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time.

Thank you!

Honest Review !
I bought not one but two of these. The seal and the latches was the issue I had. The latch on one never completely worked and the other one was loose letting out heat. It would have been cheaper just buying a non latching lid. It could have been manufactured issue. As for cooking it was perfect. Settings perfect, easy clean up. I don’t own a dishwasher washing in the sink was fast and easy. Depending on any crockpot I would recommend using the disposal bags for quicker clean up.

Hello, thank you so much for your honest review of the Crock-Pot® Programmable 7-Quart Cook & Carry® Slow Cooker. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share both the positives and the concerns.

We are thrilled to hear that the cooking performance, settings, and cleanup experience met your expectations. It’s great that the programmable features and manual cleaning were convenient for you, and yes, those disposable liners can definitely make clean-up even faster!

That said, we are sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced with the lid seal and latches on both units. This is certainly not the experience we want you to have. The latching lid is designed for travel friendly convenience, so if it's loose or not sealing correctly, it can impact heat retention and slow cooking efficiency.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check the gasket seal – Ensure it’s seated correctly around the lid and hasn't been twisted or pulled out of place during washing. If the gasket is warped or damaged, it may need to be replaced.

Latch adjustment – Sometimes the latches may feel loose if not aligned properly. Gently press the lid down while latching to ensure a snug fit. If a latch is bent or misaligned from the start, it could be a manufacturing defect.

If the issue persists and you need our help, please Contact Us on our official CrockPot website form https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or via LiveChat. We’re available Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 8 pm Eastern Time. We look forward to assisting you!
Thank you!

I really enjoy using the Crockpot 7-Quart Cook & Carry! It’s super convenient for making large meals, especially for family gatherings or meal prepping. The programmable timer is easy to set and helps prevent overcooking. The locking lid is great for transporting dishes without spills. Cleanup is simple since the insert is removable and dishwasher safe. The only small downside is that it takes up a bit of counter space due to its size, but that’s expected with a 7-quart capacity.

Cook and Carry Crockpot
on June 22, 2025

I have used crockpot slow cookers for the last 20 years and they are a very convenient tool to create tasty dinners or appetizers for party’s and so on. You can use this for many different dishes which is a huge plus. I like the cook and carry option on these as you can make something and take it with you. The programmable option is ok it lets you set the cook time from 30 mins to 20 hours I believe, I do wish you could set this to come on at a certain time as well as cook for a certain time so you could leave and it would come on by itself but even without that feature it is a versatile cooker, I recommend using the liners as a easy cleanup but if you don’t you can rinse off the pot and lid and throw them in the dishwasher. I have had to replace my crockpot about every three years which takes a star off for me as I wish it would last longer, overall I think every household should have one of these especially for bringing food for holidays, parties and more.
