I had this crockpot for about 4 years and it was fantastic. One day it suddenly quit working, so I ordered the exact same one. I got my new one and tried to use it several times, but each time it would begin to smell like wiring or electrical burning. I ended up having to return this one.

I bought the 7 quart cook and carry. I put water in and measured the temperatures. On high, after 3 hours it maxed out at 205 F. On low overnight, it reached 205 F also. On warm it varied between 176 and 201 F. That doesn't seem right to me. Should I return it?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Low: 7-8 hours to reach the simmer point. High: 3-4 hours to reach the simmer point. Warm is 160 - 170°F. We hope this information helps. Thank you very much!

Stopped working after only a few uses

I purchased this crock pot for my family of 6 and loved the timer setting. Used it for the fourth time and came home to a crockpot full of raw chicken. The heating element does not heat at all on either setting. Very disappointed in this, especially now to see this has happened multiple time and Crockpot has done nothing to fix it and is still selling them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only worked once

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this as a gift, used it once and worked great. Went to use it again and it doesn’t work :(. Plugged it in and the screen turns on but it doesn’t heat up at all. Not sure what happened to make it stop working after one use considering I’ve been using an old faithful crock pot brand slow cooker for 12 years! Going to have to consider another brand for my slow cooker needs if I have to replace it after one use!

Attractive unit but crock is weak

We bought this model PVL710 to replace an old unit. It worked well a few times until the crock fractured, rendering the unit useless. Since we were just out of warranty, I am afraid that we are now out-of-luck. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this model.

Disappointed

I had the 7 Quart Cook & Carry for two years and the programming piece died. Set everything up that morning before going to work. Unfortunately, when I came home, the meat wasn't cooked. I double checked the temperature settings and tried a different plug. I even thought it may have been human error, but wasn't. It is disappointing the Crockpot lasted a short time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cracked while cooking

This crockpot worked well until it cracked while cooking. I am very disappointed. I have always purchased Crockpot brand crockpots and have three different sizes at all times. I have had them stop working in the past but never this quickly and have never had a crock break.
