Downloaded and installed the drivers, and it just worked. I broke a pin on my serial connector on my service laptop, and this resolved the issue.

driver install

Unable to try out the device as regardless of the method for installation of the windows driver for Win pro 7, the install always comes up saying it aborted. Software is horrible.

It's possible you have our ICUSB232 which looks similar but requires a different driver for it to function.
