Great Thermostat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was hard to install as we have a newer furnace and air conditioner. But after our heating man installed (in a mere matter of minutes) I love it. The ability to change the temperature away from the actual unit, whether in another room or away makes it perfect. I love the ability to turn on the air or heat before I get home. Totally worth getting.

Old one was better

I prefer the older version. It hooked up to alexa so easily. This one made me set up the thermostat first with Google home and now it won't connect to my alexa at all. I'm also having difficulty programming it with my nest app where I control and schedule the other one. I'm pretty frustrated with it because the whole reason I wanted it was to control it with Alexa. Also, I don't have the special wire it wants me to have so it basically says it will suck the battery life dry and I can't get rid of the corresponding error message even though operating it without that fancy wire is totally an option. Get a different one. This one is obnoxious.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's a thermostat

Mostly works like they should.One time I had to do a reset from the thermostat system settings, because they lost the connection to nest server (wifi part was okay)...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I would rather the thermostat connect to the nest app and not Google. Google is more complicated then the nest app. Needs to be improved.

Not as what I expected

Bought a google nest thermostat for my home to find out it won't work like a normal thermostat. I had to buy a transformer even though I had good power going to it from my boiler. Can't work the thermostat from my phone because app keeps on erasing my info. I wanted to be able to control the thermostat from my phone but it seems impossible. I would definitely buy a normal thermostat next time.

The symptoms you provided may be related to connectivity issues with your Wi-Fi network. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try out that may be helpful:
- Restart the router.
- Test Wi-Fi with another device, to ensure you have an active Internet connection.
- Restart your thermostat.
- Reset your thermostat’s network connection.
- Check your Wi-Fi router settings

Only suggestion is I would like the large numbers on the thermostat be the inside temperature and the set to temperature be the smaller numbers.

The Nest was easy to set up and program to our schedule. It took a while to figure out a few options syncing it with our Echo. We have multiple Nests at multiple homes and also different brands of thermostats at each home which adds some complex communication challenges. If you hsve a single home with one thermostat, it's a breeze.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Convenient

Hopefully this will save on heating/air bills. I've only had it for 3 weeks so we shall see. When I leave the house and forget to turn it up or down, I can do it anywhere in located.
