I rowed through numerous adapters by j5create, StarTech and others. This adapter requires no drivers and is a plug and play setup. Stupid easy and it works first try; and not like Lego Batman first try, it was really the first try.
I got this product to allow me to connect my MacBook Pro 2017 (with OS 10.12.6) to my venerable (but working) Studio Display 17" and accompanying DVI to ADC adapter. It doesn't work; the display constantly switches between showing the image and a black screen. Admittedly, this is old kit and uses a resolution (1280 x 1024) not listed as supported by StarTech, but I'm still disappointed. By comparison, my Studio Display does work with a MBP 2015 and the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter.

Thanks for sharing this feedback. We're very sorry for the inconvenience this caused. Unfortunately our CDP2DVIW requires a monitor with a DVI-D input. A monitor that uses an ADC connector won't work.
We recommend returning our adapter in this case. Please reach out to us directly if there are any problems with arranging a return and mention this review.
