Used this for an expensive Sub-Zero fridge. A popular hardware review site has a teardown review of another model in this series with component and power line filtering details. A lot more trustworthy than all protectors especially the dedicated appliance surge protectors. Will get some more isobloks for my other devices.

How can you really recommend a protective device until it actually protects you (or fails to). We don't get a lot of electrical surges here in San Diego, but I've got two expensive tools and a computer in my workshop that would be horribly expensive to repair if a surge would wipe out the computers that made them work. I give 4 stars at this point because they appear rugged, have a big joule rating, and install solidly in my shop outlets. The rating goes to 5+ if I ever have a surge and they work; or the rating goes to zero if there is damage that Tripp lite doesn't cover.
