Interesting fact, this unit does not get hot while connected, regardless of how many outlets you use at a time. I bought two because I needed the coaxial connectors to protect two expensive LED screens at home, cable boxes and audio components. Surge ang lightning are common in my area. Great product from trippLite...highly recommended

Best model for your home theater dollar

This replaced a similar model that has worked without a glitch for over 15 years now protecting my home theater equipment. The old model was cascaded to the less expensive bedroom TV and stereo and still works perfectly. Fifteen years ago, I bought 12 of the older TLP808TELTV surge protectors after research and they all still serve my family and friends to this day. We all live in the area of the Midwest where storms are the worst, too. Quality product at a low price. Also note the coax protection for your cable modem. Did you know that if you have cable TV or internet and fail to protect the incoming coax source that it can damage everything else in series connected to it? If you have a cable modem or cable TV then look no further. Electronics Engineer here.

I bought this protector for my TV setup, and because the wiring was exposed to where little kids could get at it. Child covers were a must! Coax protection was a plus. So now I've got help with cable & electrical surges ... as well as inquisitive kids.

I bought this product after losing 2 cordless phones and a TV from lightning within a month. Living in Florida lightning strikes are a constant worry and this season seems to be a bad one. Since connecting my phone, satellite receiver, and new TV I haven't lost anything even though we've had some wicked storms. I really like that it had LED indicators to let you know if it's still working. I'm planning on buying additional Tripp products to protect other electronics in my house and office

Bought the Tripp-Lite to replace another surge protector for our television, satellite system, Apple TV and sound/DVD system. Has all the necessary plug options we needed for all our equipment and was easy set up. The on/off switch is lit when on and also the light indicating the surge protection and ground are working are good features.
