I ordered this Tripp-Lite strip because it had all the features I wanted to hook my computer, sat, telephone, large screen HDTV, and Sound system to the power grid. It had enough jacks and outlets so I did not have to use two strips which is what I wanted to clean up the mess behind my system.
This surge protector has everything you need for a high end entertainment system. I like that it has 10 plugs (8 or less really just isn't enough if you have a lot of equipment). I also like the spacing between 4 of the ports for larger power bricks and the option to protect your ethernet and coax lines. It certainly works to shut off and protect your devices, as I had it fully loaded and added a 1500W oil heater to it and it shut the entire system off when it was pulling too much current. Lifetime warranty and insurance sweetens the deal.
Hi, we moved to an area in Florida that has daily Lightning strikes. I wanted to protect my son's expensive computer and my Plasma Tv's. I bought this HT10DBS for my son's computer and an Eco surge TLP121OSATG for my 60 inch plasma and two Super7 surge protectors for smaller Tv's. Yes, we did get many lightning strikes and power outages. Talking to neighbors, many lost several electronic items do to surges, but ours remained fine. I not only believe that Tripp-Lite saved our electronics but I gave Tripp-Lite info to all my neighbors and they were grateful. Thanks again.
An electrical professional recommended I look into the Tripp-lite product line to protect my audio/visual investment, and I'm so glad I did. The quality is superb, the level of protection is exceptionally high, and the confidence in my investment is assuring, as I appreciate the technology that's put into this product. I recommmend this product hands down.

I have had this product for more than 6 months. I travel a lot and didn't want to unplug all my things so I could still get my emails sent to my phone and keep recording my shows while I was away, etc. I live in Colorado Springs and in the spring there are numerous thunder and lightning storms in excess. My home was hit with lightning several times one week and not a thing was harmed. I have since bought another one for the other TV. I know while I'm away it's one less thing to worry about.
