The build of this surge protector is so far above the brands/models that most people are used to. This is a high quality product. I am very satisfied with it. I've been using it for several years and it has worked wonderfully during that time.
I use this surge suppressor for my entertainment center. It gives me complete confidence that my expensive equipment is well protected. In over three years of service it is still going strong and I don't have to worry about component damage. Best product on the market.
I originally had an isotel ultra circa 1997 - which until recently was great . So 8-21-13 I decided to find another Tripp lite and bought one online of their top of the line HT 10DBS units. As I was registering a brand new computer - the biggest lightening strike hit my house in the (Tampa Bay area) lightening capital of the USA, shook everything - blitzed an old TV, zapped my phone I think. However, I was sure glad I had plugged the new laptop into the new Home Theater Surge suppressor because it offered superior performance and although the screen of the new computer felt it - I think it DID NOT LOSE POWER. So I would highly reccomend this unit and plan on buying 2 more this week.
We had a transformer blow in the neighborhood causing significant damage at many houses (including mine). My HT10DBS blew out, but unlike other locations in my house EVERYTHING connected to it survived. I made 1 call to Tripp Lite and they sent a new replacement, no questions asked. I am sold and will be ordering more for sure!!
Hopefully, I'll never find out how well the HT10DBS performs; but so far, so good. TrippLite certainly has a great reputation and was a major consideration for buying this unit. I bought two units and the both perform as advertised. I connected my cable TV set top box to the COAX protectors. Picture is clear and sharp. I have the other unit supporting my Internet / phone box. Again, phone, network and my TV video card work well. I do seem to have lost 2db on the video signal, but not a major issue for performance. I am not using the Ethernet protection since it only supports 100BaseT and I use 1000BaseT. Very nice having the patch cords included. Things that could be done differently Ð IMO Ð I would change the ÒGroundedÓ LED to show Green not Red when grounding is OK. I still am not sure which outlets are part of the ÒIsolated Filter BanksÓ or how best to arrange to devices I have plugged into the unit. I would also print a OwnerÕs Manual that was specific to the HT10DBS. I'm glad I bought these units and recommend them.
