I have this set up in my basement, protecting my home network/theater. I screwed in the incoming RG-6 line before it plugs into my cable modem, another RG-6 from my external antenna before it hits a splitter. My NAS, managed switch, router and WAP all have their power on this surge protector. Having the seperate power banks really cuts down on the possibility of a bad PSU on one device creating interference on another. I have another Isobar upstairs with the rest of the theater equipment plugged in, but not utilizing the RJ-45/RG-6 protection, since they are protected at the demarc and I don't want to introduce any latency or use the 10/100 RJ-45 port.
I have not found enough things for all the outlets, but I live in the mountains and put up with power outages and surges from time to time and things are still working great!
This surge protector offers more protection and at a better price than protectors I found in the store. I feel totally safe with this. I have an expensive tv etc on it and would recommend this product if you want superior protection.
I bought this product about five years ago. It is used to connect my 60" HD TV, my stereo, The outside antenna which I highly recommend and the blue ray and cd/DVD movie players. So far I have no complaints. Most of the other electrical equipment that I have are connected to six outlet Tripplite Isobars. The one that went south was replaced free of charge by Tripplite. I highly recommend these products.
This surge protector has more outlets than I need and has performed flawlessly. We had a power surge a few years ago and Tripp-Lite honored the lifetime warranty by replacing the unit for free with no questions asked. I won't buy anything but Tripp-Lite from now on.
I have used Tripp Lite surge suppressors for a long time. One time I had a unit which was no longer providing surge suppression and Tripp Lite replaced it for free. The ones I have are of metal construction and well built. This particular model comes with a $500,000 lifetime insurance Ð I have never had a needed to use these policies thankfully. Recommended.
I have a fairly complex 2 tv home theater system and felt like I needed more protection that just a regular power strip. I replaced two power strips with this one box and it looks and performs exellent.
