[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These strips make hanging pictures a breeze! If you don't hang it right where you want it the first time, just simply snap the picture off & snap on again! It's as simple as that!

Tore a chunk of plaster off the wall
on July 16, 2012

Step 5 says to pull the frame off the wall (then wait 1 hour to remount). When I did so the bottom left strip pulled off the wall - taking a chunk of plaster with it. Now I am worried that the three remaining strips won't be strong enough to hold the 7 pound frame on the wall, AND I have a hole in my plaster.
The little fasteners sure are strong. Maybe too strong.

Thank you for taking the time to write a Rating & Review about your experience with the Command(TM) Large Picture Hanging Strips. We would not expect our product to behave in that way. As long as the beginning of the application process was followed, on Step 5:, when you pulled the bottom up, the strip should not have pulled from the wall and as hazardously as it did.. We would like the opportunity to remedy this. If our products do not perform as they should we would ask you contact us by phone at 1-800-934-7355 our agents are available from 7 AM - 6 PM CST Monday- Friday or by e-mail at www.command.com. Please look for an email from us directly as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The picture hanging strips were very easy to use. I have had no problems with these strips they held all my picture and my mirrors and never fell off. The removal of these strips were just as easy, just pull the strips off. And the best part of the picture hanging strips is you can keep part of the strip still attached to your frames or mirrors and then just attach new ones to the wall.

Maybe its because they were on my wall for a year, but when I went to remove the strips from my walls, about half of them broke before I got the whole thing off the wall (tore in two). Of the 33 pictures I had in my hallway, 12 holes in the paint remain as a result of either the strip ripping in two while I was trying to remove it or because it ripped the paint off before I was done. The largest hole is about two inches across and 1 inch up and down (it just kept coming up). The smallest one is about .5 inch by .25 inch (most are close to this size). I bought oodles of these things because I didn't want to put any holes in the walls. Boy was I wrong.
Oh and at random intervals during the past year, three of my pictures just fell off the wall (the whole apparatus detached from the wall, not my picture).

Thank you for taking the time to write a Rating & Review. We would expect Command(TM) Brand Products to remove cleanly from the surface regardless of how long they have been on it. If the tab tears during removal we would suggest using dental floss or fishing line to sea-saw behind the hook and then rolling up any remaining adhesive strip left on the wall to prevent damage that pulling or prying may cause. We have a link on how to do this on our website www.command.com and click on the "how to use" banner. Also, keep in mind the strips must be stretched down towards the ground during removal and not out as this may increase the chances of paint pulling. Please keep an eye out for a direct e-mail so we can assist further.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought these hooks when we purchased our new home. We did not want to put holes all in our walls. It seemed to work great for about a year. I came home to find my picture laying in the floor with glass scattered everywhere. My candle sticks were broken candles all over the floor. I certainly would not reccommend these to hang large pictures. We even used 2 hangers to secure it better. I am very upset not only did it break the glass, this was very special picture that a friend painted for us. I would not reccommed these for large pictures.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in a dorm, so I'm pretty limited with the way I can personalize my room. So I used the velcro picture hanging strips to attach all of my decorations to my walls- without damaging them. My favorite was when I used a velcro the back of a bouquet of artificial flowers, and stuck them to a corresponding velcroll. Really cute, and no damage done to the dorm wall. I also hung a whiteboard, a phone holder, and my remote control on the walls.
